I learned one thing from the solar eclipse: 3 percent is a lot.
Here in Amboy we were to get 97% totality. That can't be so different from 100%, can it? Surely, I would see a significant darkening, if not the exciting views of the diamond ring and the appearance of stars.
Not so. Three percent of the sun's light still means blue sky and sunshine on the grass and trees. Our sun is powerful!
So, I really missed the fun stuff by staying home. But I'm just as glad to miss the congested traffic.
