On my walk this morning I came across three first blooms: trillium, salmon berry and osoberry (Indian plum). We have a warm breeze, the temperature is rising, buds on the blueberries are ready to pop, ice crystals on top of the mole hills are gone. I've already seen a robin carrying nesting materials. I've already been eating wild bitter cress and volunteer garden cress, and stinging nettles are almost ready to harvest.
And the calendar says TODAY is the first day of spring!
