Everyone has a different way of ordering their life, so my way may not suit you. However, you may find something useful.
I keep a daily calendar on which I list the several most important tasks for that day in business (EWWA) and writing. (Not necessary for art.)
At the top of the page, above those tasks, are these letters:
A B G H M Q X. Each day I try to check off every one.
A is for Andy, my husband, for special time with him. B is for Blessing, something to bring joy or encouragement to another person. G is for gratitude, to stop a few moments and thank God for his goodness. H is for Household, the daily upkeep. M is for Mother. She is ninety now, and I want to be in contact with her every day. Q is for Quiet, a time I sit down during the day to rest, evaluate and recharge. X is for Exercise, weight lifting—a different area of the body each day. (There are other things I do each day, but they are so habitual I do not need a reminder.)
None of the ABGHMQX things takes much time, but they are important to keep me balanced.
What are the things that do that for you?
