II'm just a point-and-lick kind of photographer, so was interested in seeing the difference between these two photos.
New Year's Day we woke up to four inches of snow. I was excited since I love it and we didn't have any last year. So, knowing that at 35 degrees the snow wouldn't last, I went out early to take some pictures. That was about 6AM PST.
At 8:30AM I was out again walking the dog. More snow had fallen, so I took more pictures. What a difference in the light! Now I understand by experience the things I've heard real photographers say about light and times of day. I'm referring particularly to Gary Behrens who used to be part of Battle Ground Art Alliance but now lives in Kansas. Take a look at his beautiful photographs at West Winds Vistas.
