Were you ever denied your freedom? Perhaps made to sit on a chair in the corner as a child, confined to your room as a teen, or even sent to jail? Mesarthim is the name of a star in Aries, the lamb. Mesarthim comes from a root meaning to bind. Being bound was one of the ways Jesus suffered when as the lamb he stood in our place, just as the ancient Jews bound a lamb before sacrificing it for sins. It pictured the coming Savior. "Then the detachment of soldiers with its commander and the Jewish officials arrested Jesus. They bound him and brought him first to Annas," John 18:12-13. Sometimes we use bound or bind to describe the care of a wound. Psalm 147:3 says that the LORD "Heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Jesus, once bound for us, binds up our worst wound—that of separation from God.
